Alex was previously bouncing around group homes and not doing well at all. He was brought into his current foster home and has made a huge turnaround since then. Alex's foster parents are amazing. Alex arrived in his new home in July - a 13 year old boy who has been suspended from school more than 30 times, skipped school multiple days per week, has been expelled from two schools, a straight F student who was extremely difficult and had very little respect for authority. He had even been arrested twice! I've been his Guardian for two and half years though two foster homes, one failed reunification and two group homes. I knew if he had the right family foster home he would flourish - and I was so right! He is attending church, playing football, doing well in school and his behaviors have been good. Alex goes to church youth group every week, has lots of friends, has had sleepovers, and recently he went on a youth leadership retreat with his church thanks to GALF's support!  Alex is finally experiencing what it is like to live in a loving family environment. He is learning how to be part of a family.  He is learning manners and how to be a part of team.  He is even learning about how to manage money and other important life skills.  It's been amazing to watch his transformation.  The boy I have seen on visits for the past two years is now the boy everyone else sees too!  - Alex's GAL
